Lens beat Clermont 3-1: Openda and Fofana score together for continued closing in on Paris

Lens beat Clermont 3-1 at Stade de France to continue their push towards the top four, with goals from Openda and Fofana.

The match was a closely contested affair throughout, with both teams creating chances but unable to find the back of the net until the final stages.

Openda got Lens off to a strong start, scoring in the first minute of the game. However, Clermont were not to be denied as they responded with a goal of their own through Fofana in the 26th minute.

Despite being behind, Lens refused to give up and continued to press forward. They eventually equalized through Yann M'Vila in the 57th minute, before Openda scored his second goal of the game in the 84th minute to secure all three points for Lens.

This victory means that Lens now sit just one point behind third-placed Rennes, who also have a game in hand. The team will hope to build on this momentum as they look to close the gap on PSG and other top sides in Ligue 1.
